• • What motivated you to run for City Council?

My motivation to run for City Council comes from the encouragement and support of my fellow citizens. Over the past four years, several people in our community have asked me to step up and represent their interests. This inspired me to start regularly attending City Council meetings and get more involved. 

I am passionate about bringing a more real-world approach to the table, addressing the practical needs and concerns of our community. My goal is to make a meaningful difference and ensure that the voices of Grand Terrace residents are heard and valued. So send me your concerns and solutions. • • What are your main goals and priorities if elected?

My main priorities are focused on the safety and well-being of Grand Terrace citizens. Ensuring a safe community is my highest priority, which is why I will continue to fight for more dedicated police coverage for our city. This is crucial for the safety of both our officers and our citizens.

Another key priority is rebuilding the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). A well-prepared community has a much higher survival rate in the event of a disaster. I encourage all residents to attend CERT training and support budgeting for this vital program to enhance our collective safety.

Together, we can create a safer, stronger Grand Terrace.

• • What Qualifications and Experiences Make You the Best Candidate for This Position?

With over 20 years of working with our city personnel on outreaches, community cleanup, and enrichment efforts, I have built a strong rapport with city staff. Unlike other City Council members, I also own a small business in town. This has allowed me to develop a trustworthy name and reputation in our community, proving that I am dependable, forthright, and honest.

My long-standing commitment to community involvement and my practical experience as a local business owner give me a unique perspective on the needs and challenges of Grand Terrace. I am a resident deeply focused on the betterment of our small, tight-knit community, and I am ready to bring this dedication to the City Council.

• • What Is Your Stance on Local Economic Development?

I am a strong advocate for local economic development that benefits our entire community. I believe in creating an environment where small businesses can thrive, as they are the backbone of our local economy. 

My goals include:

Supporting Local Businesses:  I understand the challenges and opportunities that local businesses face. I will work to help create policies that support their growth and sustainability.

Attracting New Investments:  I aim to attract new businesses and investments to Grand Terrace by promoting our city as a great place to live, work, and invest in. 

Sustainable Growth:  I am committed to ensuring that economic growth is sustainable and environmentally responsible. This means promoting businesses that align with our community values and long-term vision.

By focusing on these areas, we can build a vibrant and prosperous local economy that benefits all residents of Grand Terrace.
